More than half of the world's poorest people now live in rural areas, and their incomes depend predominantly on small-scale agriculture. Due to the intensification of industrialization and urbanization processes, rural areas are affected by various kinds of natural and human factors that cause problems with demographic, natural, and cultural resources. Creativity seems to be one of the responses to the decline in rural areas associated with the transition of society from the era of agriculture through the industrial era to the knowledge economy. The main purpose of our research is to analyze the possibilities and directions of formation of creative centers of rural development within the framework of the spatial concept. The main task of this article is the study of the problem of formation of creative centers of rural creativity with special emphasis on the specifics of creative activity. The methodological approach based on the analysis of economic types of activity in the rural areas has been applied in this research, which fundamentally changes the perspective of consideration of this issue and allows to realize the set goal. The article highlighted four models of creative centers designed for the integrated development of rural areas based on cultural heritage and the formation of new unique industries, as well as the creation of competitive products using the advantages of creative clusters, creative industries and modern tourist services. The conducted research allows us to conclude that the development of creative centers in rural areas should be comprehensive in nature and be based on the state support in determining the unique identity conditions for each specific area. The formation of creative centers can become an anti-crisis economic tool that will ensure the socio-economic and cultural development of rural areas, as well as attract potential investors and improve tourist potential.
