Foreign economic activity of the Russian Federation: problems and prospects for the development of investment cooperation

The current stage of development of the Russian economy dictates the need to improve approaches and technologies for managing foreign economic activity and foreign trade both at the federal and especially at the regional level. Today, the development of foreign economic relations and the development of effective instruments for the implementation of foreign economic activity, the development of international investment cooperation are becoming increasingly important. The purpose of this study is to analyze the main problems and determine the priority directions for the development of foreign economic activity both at the federal and regional levels. The study identified strategic goals and objectives for the development of foreign economic activity, considering the emerging trends in the world market, ongoing economic sanctions, the pressure of stagflationary risks and geopolitical factors, as well as the global coronavirus pandemic COVID-19. At the same time, special attention was paid to the search and development of directions for the development of investment cooperation in the context of Russian-Chinese economic relations.
